Toilets are a convenient and quick way to get rid of tampons and plastic applicators. Out of sight, out of mind. Not so for plumbing and wastewater systems, treatment plants and our environment. Tampon applicators that wash up on our beaches are not always removed during the screening process at a treatment plant and are discharged with the effluent into lakes, rivers and oceans. Please help spread the word that all personal care products including condoms, belong in the trash! It’s time for Americans to think before they flush!
