29-Day Giving Challenge: Day 28 — Handknit mug cozies

[Part of my challenge to give something away every day for 29 days]

2479197519 127e1673b4 t 29 Day Giving Challenge: Day 28 — Handknit mug coziesIn case you missed it, my sister started a knitting blog called yoelknits. She’ve very prolific in her knitting. And she’s donated two cute mug cozies as green LA girl freebies :)

I asked her what the purpose of the cozies were, exactly. Aesthetic? Utilitarian? This was her characteristically organized response:

I think cozies are for (in order of importance):

1) decoration
2) to keep coffee/tea warm
3) to keep fingers un-burnt

Want them? Comment or email by Tuesday to get into the drawing, which happens Wednesday. US addresses only.

My sis starts a knitting blog

2220623831 60b47ff284 m My sis starts a knitting blogI knew the day would come. After all, I’ve convinced like most of my friends to start blogs of their own in the last few years since I started blogging.

Cases in point: Both Summer and Hannah are stressing about redesigning their blogs right now. Anna has something like five (one two three four — I think there are more) at this point; the proliferation of Anna blogs will prolly go on hold for a bit, since she’s now on a boat trip — which also has its own blog. And that’s just girls on the westside I see on a relatively regular basis.

Now my sis has joined the blogosphere with yoelknits. Apparently, she does some hard core knitting when she’s not at the hospital fixing people’s brains. Check out these booties she made, right.

However, I doubt her post about booties will ever be as popular as this one of mine, to which people seeking the other type of black booties constantly stumble on

My sis never does anything half-ass. Not only does she invent her own patterns, she knits things few have ever knitted before. Latest project: A kangaroo.
