Knit me a river

Posted by Siel in art/lit/music,feminist/politics,knitting (Sunday October 15, 2006 at 6:57 pm)

Knit to promote safe water, seriously.

The project: Knit a River. It’s a visual petition — knitted blue squares’ll be stitched together to form a knitted river — a knitted, artistic, and “unique spectacle to grab world leaders’ attention” — to “promote water and toilets for all.”

The people behind it: Fun knitters of the London-based I Knit, in conjunction with WaterAid

You can check out my own knitted square to the right — It’ll be mailed to join the river.

Wanna participate? Knit a 15×15 cm blue square, print out a personal details form (PDF), then mail both to: WaterAid, 47-49 Durham Street, London SE11 5JD.

You can also email a pic of your blue square to campaigns@wateraid.org, for possible publication on the WaterAid website. Join the river :)
