It is actually not difficult to find a scoby to start your own batch of tea. They can be purchased at a number of different sites on the web or you can join one of the many kombucha groups on yahoogroups and find someone with extras who is willing to send you one for the cost of postage. You might even discover that someone near you is brewing and you can pick one up.

HI,
Jennifer...
I just started drinking coconut kephir as well...
I have a toned body and would like to keep it that way... I notice when I drink fermented beverages... red wine... apple cider vinegar or coconut kephir I lose muscle tone... Is it all in my head?
I did notice a flatter abdomen...less sugar cravings...
do you notice the muscle tone thing? What changes have you noticed in your body specifically?
I also have been getting a lot more compliments on my skin and I have to say it looks flawless thanks to coconut kephir but I don't want to lose my toned appearanced.

If you like komboucha you might like other cultured drinks. I've been drinking homemade coconut kefir for about a year. It tastes like a bubbly tart juice and it's full of minerals and probiotics. I also just started making Filmjolk, a swedish yogurt-y type drink. Yum. I make it with TJs organic milk and it's so creamy. I will share my cultures with you if you like.

Yeah - I've heard from some people who've tried making their own that the kombucha made itself so fast they couldn't "keep up"! I think part of the reason Hannah's doing it is she has many many extra kombucha babies now, and wants them to go to good use --
