LACMA and fair trade

What is it about museum stores that makes them so inviting?

On top of the fun stuff I found at the MOCA and Hammer museums, I spied some cool fair trade things at the LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) when I dropped by to see the Hockney exhibit and the Klimt paintings just before they were shipped out to be auctioned off

Here, you’ll find a bunch of tableware stuff from the fair trade company Zen-Zen.

To the left, serving utensils; to the right, placemats. The placemats are made of vetiver, a deep growing and naturally aromatic root, which emit a faint but pleasant scent –

Boku notebooks, made of Kenaf and recycled materials, are also avaliable here (left).

  1. LACMA will also be doing a fundraising event to raise awareness for sustainable design.
