Little did I know that it was a grassroots initiative called Friends 4 Expo Transit that helped make the to-be lightrail become a reality — at least in terms of govt. planning!
I found about about this lil org via reader Mark. The org’s specific, with a specific goal: it’s an “all-volunteer group of citizens joined together to support an alternative to L.A.’s world-record traffic—a fast, comfortable, safe, high-capacity light rail transit line from downtown Los Angeles to Santa Monica.”
That’s what the planned light rail’s supposed to be — and I’m so psyched about it that I’m planning to go to Friends 4 Expo Transit’s next meeting. It’ll be next Wed., June 28, 7 pm at Hamilton High School, 2955 Robertson Blvd., in the library on the second floor of the main building.
I’m not surprised that the org’s happening a meeting. What I AM surprised about: They’re celebrating the FIFTH ANNIVERSARY of the MTA Board approval of Expo light rail.
Dude — 5 years? For real? Where the fuck have I been?
Anyway, I’m psyched. Did I mention that I dated a guy from Hamilton High when I was a young naive girl at Fairfax High?

First time visitor today and I just wanted to say I love your site! So much great information really well organized. I almost hate to say that its a movie that is changing my life, but An Inconvenient Truth has really rallyed me to quit whining and start doing something.
