Lit Thursday: I heart Darwin

Posted by Siel in art/lit/music,greenLAgirl (Thursday May 29, 2008 at 4:17 pm)

Once in a while someone asks how my creative writing relates to the eco stuff. Usually my answer is they don’t relate, but a few poems that connect the two went up earlier today on HOW2, a journal of sorts for contemporary innovative writing by women.

The current issue of HOW2 includes a feature on Ecopoetics, which includes 3 Darwin-inspired poems of mine, creatively titled “Darwin I,” “Darwin II,” and “Darwin III.”

  1. Great poems. Thanks for sharing them.

If you’d enjoy hearing a song about Darwin, check out Origin of Species by Chris Smither (available on iTunes.) He covers all of prehistory, biblical history, and human history – including a section about Darwin – in less than 3 minutes. It’s well worth the 99 cents just to hear that!
