Lit Thursday: Quick Fiction and 826 National

Posted by Siel in art/lit/music (Thursday July 17, 2008 at 8:11 am)

If you were moved by Dave Eggers’ TED talk — but never actually signed up to volunteer to put any of your time towards tutoring kids, as Eggers urged you to do via his TED wish, Once Upon a School — here’s a chance to contribute a bit, while getting a quick & dirty dose of contemporary fiction.

Buy a copy of or subscribe to Quick Fiction this summer, and 25% of that money’ll go to one of 3 literacy organizations of your choice. Eggers’ 826 National is one of the 3!

Quick Fiction publishes v. short fiction — the kind you can read during a 5 minute break from whatever you’re doing. Perfect for people who heart brevity, are ADD, or like to argue the diff between prose poems and just plain prose.
