Made a resolution to yoga more this year? (Yes, I’m using yoga as a verb) I’ve already covered eco-friendly yoga mats and mat bag, but here’s another eco yoga prop you might like: A Love Forever eye pillow to place over your eyes during shavasana.

And you can make it yourself! Love Forever offers $15 Lavender Eye Pillow Kits, which include scraps of vintage and new fabric, silk, organic lavender and flaxseed, plus instructions to put them all together.

The less crafty-courageous can buy pre-made pillows from Love Forever’s Etsy shop. The patchwork eye pillows are each handmade by Kayte Terry, a crafty gal in Brooklyn who sews together scraps of vintage and reproduction cotton fabrics to create one-of-a-kind looks. The back fabric’s pure silk to rest softly on your eyes, and the filling’s organic lavender and flaxseed.

Kayte says she started out making the eye pillows for friends as gifts — until people started ordering more for their friends. In fact, the pillow above’s the one I got it in a shwag bag at the opening for Fred Segal Green, which took notice of Kayte’s crafting skills from afar.

Unfortunately, Fred Segal Green doesn’t actually sell these eye pillows. But Kayte’s Etsy shop‘s open — with plans to add patchwork heart sachets for Valentine’s Day.
