If you like to know what’s happening in L.A. — before the L.A. Times gets around to putting up the latest news — then you probably already read LAist.
That popular blog’s editor’s Zach Behrens — a self-described “green bean” — who’ll be at Blogger Beach Cleanup on Oct. 24!
Zach’s blogged about how he’s shaved 40% off his electric bill by embracing CFL bulbs, why you should explore the sea caves of the Channel Islands, what you’re missing out on if you’re not buying tasty local bread, and where to get popsicles made with farmers’ market ingredients.
So join Zach and sign up for the Blogger Beach Cleanup — and bug your other fave LAist bloggers about getting to the event too! Remember: The first 25 volunteers to get there will get free Envirosax totes — and we’ve got all sorts of other prizes. See you there –

Argh! I’m so bummed I can’t come to this event. It sounds like it is going to be great.
