Freebies are happening fast and furiously because I’m a bit behind on my 29-Day Giving Challenge — oopsie. Today’s giveaway is a copy of Sandor Ellix Katz’ The Revolution Will Not Be Microwaved: Inside America’s Underground Food Movements.

Here’s my review. Want it? Comment by Wednesday on this post to let me know what in the review makes you want to read the book, and you’ll be in the drawing, happening Thursday. US addresses only.

  1. “There’s the more obvious out-there stuff, like a “recipe” for — eating dirt!”
    – If nothing else, I’m intrigued to see what this is all about.

I’m still pretty new to getting greener, but I am trying to read as much as I can and be as educated as I can be about the issue.

  2. “Still, “The Revolution Will Not Be Microwaved” is helpful in showing the connections between the many current issues that’re often considered independently. covers so much stuff. marijuana. From urban community gardens in New York City to AIDS medication to intentional communities in Tennessee to herbal medicine to marijuana and hemp legislation, “The Revolution Will Not Be Microwaved” covers it all.”

I must confess – I checked this out from the library months ago but only got quarter-way through it before school work took over and I couldn’t read anything ‘for leisure.’ So the book is already intriguing and on my ‘to read’ list – but your review (especially above) especially peaked my interest! I am a big fan of fixing things holistically and thinking of my health holistically – and I am curious to see how things are all connected and how we can begin to look at our modern social issues in a holistic approach instead of compartmentalizing everything.

So please include me! Summer break is coming soon and my goal is to start tackling my to read pile with 1 book a week. I’d love to add this to the stack.
