In honor of Bike Girl’s completing her 30 day car-free pledge, green LA girl will compose this post in third person.
But first, green LA girl would like to note that she didn’t ever directly challenge Bike Girl, nor did green LA girl pass over Bike Girl for an interview! Green LA girl simply asked Bike Girl via email if she is car free, because green LA girl was curious.
Regardless, green LA girl is glad that Bike Girl is no longer outraged; green LA girl would also like to congratulate Bike Girl on completing her challenge challenge —
green LA girl LOL’d at Bike Girl’s admission that “Not everyone seems to have enjoyed Bike Girl’s car-free month. Apparently a neighborhood LOLcat has noticed how dusty her car has become. He has written “Wash Me PLZ” on the trunk and the windshield.” Bike Girl now plans to get a car cover and advice on how to maintain her car while not riding it — which makes green LA girl wonder if it wouldn’t be easier to just get rid of the car and rent one the few times a year Bike Girl needs one….
In less girly news, Gary of Gary Rides Bikes is now car-free, for reals. Green LA girl congratulates Gary, who also happens to be a neighbor of green LA girl’s. Green LA girl also wonders if Gary has an estimate for how much money he’ll be saving a month.
Lastly, green LA girl notes that both Bike Girl and Gary Rides Bikes are composed on Blogger, and would like to register a nerdy blog-related complaint: Why is it that every time green LA girl tries to comment, the Blogger comment page unnecessarily reloads? Usually, green LA girl’s already about 3-4 words in when the reload happens, and about half the time, gives up on commenting altogether…. Can’t the bicycling Blogger bloggers band together to force Google to remedy this unacceptable commenting snafu? :P

Hmm, not sure about that blogger comment thing you are talking about, at least I have not experienced that problem with it. What browser and OS are you using?

Still not sure what this bug you mention on blogger is, or at least I don’t get it on mac or windows firefox. Has anyone else here encountered a bug with losing text when commenting on blogger?

As for estimate of cost savings I didn’t actually do the math, had so much else on my mind. But let’s say it was enough savings that the cost of my recent trip to New York seemed like no big deal.
