My first corn pen

Posted by Siel in caffeine, environment (Thursday March 9, 2006 at 2:54 pm)

To the left — a corn plastic pen :)

It was a gift from Krissy of Pura Vida, who came to the Fair Trade LA kick-off event. The pen’s made from MATER-BI, a corn starch based material that’s biodegreable.

Want biodegreable pens for your own company? Get them from NatureAd. The Pura Vida design’s called Husker, but there’s also a less corn-inspired pen design, as well as mugs, rulers, letter openers, golf tees and — last but most curious — bandage dispensers.

I’ll email Krissy to figure out how individuals can get a hold of these pens –

  2. I’ve been curious about the pencils that’re being made out of old denim…
