After logging on to find 400+ spam messages in my moderation queue, I’ve had to make some changes. From now on, the following words will be blacklisted on green LA girl:
ambien, cialis, nexium, phentermine, phpbbforfree, prevacid
This means that if you include any of the above words in a comment, it’ll get automatically deleted without my ever seeing it.
So — For all of you non-spammers who were planning to comment about the relationship between ambien and environmentalism — sorry :(

Is is possible for you to use image recognition?
Another site I visit frequently has a text box in which I have to type in “brown” for my comment to get past their filter. Will that work for you? You can visit this site and their comments section to see what I mean (www.sepiamutiny.com)

Hey Green Girl:
I really admire your blog and its relentless focus–and though my question may seem personal, it’s not meant for you, particularly, but for your sense of the general green girl.
Question: How important is sustainibility and eco-consciousness to your tribe when it comes time to choosing a man? Honestly. No–I means honestly. No. Honestly.
Nick

blue frog security is a great anti-spam effort. you forward on your spam to them and then they find out where it’s coming from and block your address. they can also protect you entire mail domain. http://www.bluesecurity.com i’ve noticed a significant decrease in spam traffic on my home email account.
this isn’t an ad, i’m just a happy user…

Thanks for the advice, everyone. I think word verification might make the most sense — I’ll try to find a wordpress plug-in I can use. In the meantime, it looks like my drug censorship seems to be doing the trick –
Nick — Not sure what you mean by tribe, but I have mentioned before that a big turn off for me personally are boys who make illegal lefts into fast food drive thrus. Honestly.

Hey Siel, if you’re using WordPress, get the Spam Karma plug-in…it works great for me!
