Most annual conferences happen, you know, annually — but Opportunity Green likes to sprinkle green parties throughout the year. Last night, the eco-business conference organizers invited L.A.’s green thinkers to an “eco evening celebrating style with a conscience” at the Environment Furniture Showroom in Los Angeles.

Eco-preneurs shmoozed over organic drinks and nibbles. Above’s Karen Solomon, one of Opportunity Green’s founders, enjoying an organic veggie burger from O! Burger while a guy double fisting VeeV cocktails tries to get by.

The diverse crowd included everyone from nonprofit TreePeople to TV show Alter Eco to green business Brand Neutral to eco-sites like Your Daily Thread and of course, me. Below: Me and fellow MNN blogger Karl Burkart.

The actual Opportunity Green conference will happen November 7-8, 2009 at UCLA. Already, an impressive roster of speakers — including Annie Leonard from The Story of Stuff to Peter Diamandis, founder of the X Prize Foundation — have signed on.
