Pay what you want for Radiohead’s new album

Preorder Radiohead’s new album “In Rainbows” — and pick your own price for the music.

Via Machinist, I found out Radiohead’s still not signed with a label, and is only making this new album available via their own website. If you put in your preorder to download the album when it goes on sale Oct. 10, 2007, you can pay what you want.

I paid a little over $7 (the website only displays info in pounds) — which according to the Machinist, should net Radiohead more than 4 times what they would’ve gotten via the conventional market.

Fans can opt to buy a physical discbox (pic left) too –a CD, two vinyl records, digital files, album artwork, and lyrics booklets — but that’ll put you back about $80 –
