Real Jewels: Recycled jewelry personalized with your initials

Posted by Siel in environment, fashion (Wednesday November 25, 2009 at 12:56 pm)

If you want jewelry personalized with your initials — but feel queasy about gold and silver mining practices — Real Jewels is now ready to take your order. Launched last month, this eco-conscious jewelry company uses only 100% recycled sterling silver and gold to craft its pretty pieces locally in New York City.

A customized, necklace that reflects your eco-principles can be yours for just $75, if you go for the single-initial, sterling silver option — or as much as $550 if you opt for 3 initials on 14 karat gold. You can pick from customized earrings and bracelets too.

Not one to wear your initials on your sleeve? Real Jewels also offers a variety of cute collectible charms — and more dressy and intricate jewelry too for special occasions — at prices that range from $50 to $500. The company also plans to launch a “Real Gems” line soon, featuring conflict-free diamonds and fair trade sustainable gems.
