A Walgreens near me had a sign out advertising printer cartridge refills — just $10 for black, $15 for color!
So I walked over with my printer cartridge — to find out Walgreens only refills inkjet cartridges. Oh.
I use a laser printer, and luckily I’d heard about Cartridge World, so I tried calling my nearest location. They refill both inkjet and laser cartridges — and even had an already-refilled cartridge I needed in stock.
I took the 720 over, and swapped my empty cartridge out for the refilled cartridge — The whole transaction took just a few mins. Now my old cartridge’ll get refilled and find a new home — and I saved about $20 in the process :)
The one downside’s that Cartridge World has only 1 location in LA, though there are others in Pasadena, Torrance, and other nearby cities –
If for some reason you can’t refill your empty cartridge, make sure you recycle it. Office Depot’ll give you a free ream of recycled paper for doing so; Staples’ll give you a $3 coupon.
Cartridge World. 6380 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles. 323.653.3999. M – F, 9 am – 5 pm.

My office recently got a giant fancy shmancy plotter (48″ huge mofo). We had a training with the tech from HP. I was asking him about things like, how do we recycle the cartridges and printer heads, and the guy reacted as if I were insane.

I had a client who refilled his own cartridges. There are some machines you can buy to do it, but he just used a syringe and bought his own ink. He printed hundreds of postcards every day, full color, and they looked awsome. He figured it cost him a little time and 50 cents per cartridge. There will be details posted pretty soon on how-to-do this at my site, http:www.envirofreak.com – which is a discussion board about environmental issues.

There is an ink refilling store in 548 S. Spring St. in downtown L.A. and all their refills are highly commendable. You can even haggle for some additional price discounts as the owner is very pleasant. They have only one downside and that is they can hardly be seen because they lack big colorful posters.

I refilled my inkjet cartridges but the printing quality was very poor. Is there any guaranty for good print quality after refilling the cartridges?
