Angry about the smog? The Hummer casting a shadow over half the block? The plastic bags littering your streets? Then take revenge — by wearing a vengeful eco T-shirt!

Revenge Is, a Los Angeles-based green company, wants you to wear your eco-angst on your chest — and the eco-solution on your back. All its T-shirts — available in organic cotton or an organic cotton-recycled PET blend — say “Revenge Is” in the front, and let you pick from three messages for the back: “energy independence,” “Main street at work,” or “taking back our country.”

Revenge Is was founded by a woman named Marilyn Barrett who wanted to turn anger into activism. “Our products and slogans have been conceived to acknowledge and validate our collective frustrations,” Marilyn writes on her website, “while at the same time encourage and inspire us and others to take action — to take meaningful steps toward a stable climate, a clean environment, energy independence, national security, a healthy economy, and a country of high moral principle and international regard that we can be proud of.”

In fact, the recycled PET T-shirts physically embody the company’s mission. Revenge Is turns one-use plastic bottles that are hated by environmentalists into soft T-shirts that’s meant to be worn over and over again.

Of course, the fact that we’re able to recycle plastic doesn’t mean we should be drinking bottled water! The best revenge against disposable plastics is to excise them from your life altogether, except in recycled and reusable form. To that end, Revenge Is also offers a nice reusable BPA-free to-go mug alongside the recycled PET T-shirts.

All the T-shirts are made locally in Los Angeles. At $38 a shirt, socio-eco-consious fashion doesn’t come cheap — but I can vouch for the T-shirts’ super soft comfiness. Sizes run a tad small, so shop accordingly.
