A few weeks ago, I reviewed Sophyto skin care products — which were made with very eco-friendly ingredients, but really put me off with its wasteful, excessive packaging. Now, here’s another perspective on Sophyto’s products from reader Judy, who offered to try the products and write her own review:
I liked the products a lot better than you did. Like you, I didn’t like the fact that these “mono” doses seem pretty wasteful. For me they’d be perfect to take on a vacation where you’d be in one place for a number of days. You could use it all up and throw it away.
I like the skin drops and normalizing moisturizer the best. Because it is so dry here in Tempe AZ and perhaps because I’m quite a bit older than you, my skin just soaked it up. I did not have any excess moisturizer left on my face to wipe away and it left my skin feeling very soft. The combination of the skin drops and moisturizer were great for me.
I rarely use any facial makeup so I found the cleanser just did a nice job of making my face feel cleaner and fresher. I tried everything other than the mask which I still haven’t used. I thought all the products felt nice and had a clean fresh scent.
All the products were enough in the mono dose to last me for many days. I believe the mono dose is to prevent any contamination of the product, but that seems to be defeated for those of us who want to use it over multiple days and end up with an open little container.
I’d even consider ordering some of it, but not in the “mono” dose version. Like you, I think my favorite product was the skin drops and I don’t think they currently sell it in the larger container.
Judy and I agree on one thing: One-use plastic packaging isn’t eco, for any product. Thanks to Judy for her honest appraisal :)
