Thanks for covering this news - we at TransFair USA are very excited about Starbucks enhanced commitment to Fair Trade Certified.  This is just the start - the first step in the development of their Shared Planet initiative.

To put this into perspective, Starbucks 2009 purchases (40 million pounds) nearly match total Fair Trade Certified coffee imports to the U.S. in 2005. And, more than 100,000 farming families are going to to directly benefit.
