Subway to the Sea meetings start tonight

Posted by Siel in bus/rail,de-car-ing,events (Monday April 13, 2009 at 3:08 pm)

Plans for the Subway to the Sea continue on — albeit extremely slowly. In fact, while I’m psyched to know that the next round of meetings will start the draft Environmental Impact Report process required for a project of this magnitude, I’m less psyched that the meetings seem pretty much exactly like the meetings we had the last time around.

I liveblogged the last round of meetings in September, where 2 alternatives for the subway line — plus a bus option and a “do nothing” option — were unveiled. Well, this new round of meetings will “move forward for analysis” those same 4 options….

I emailed Jody Litvak, Metro’s communications manager, to see if any new info’ll be made public at this new round of meetings, but haven’t heard back from her — possibly because she’s busy prepping for said meetings….

>> Mon., April 13, 6 pm – 8 pm, Los Angeles County Museum of Art West Terrace Room, 5th Fl., 5905 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles.

>> Tues., April 14, 6 pm – 8 pm, Plummer Park, 7377 Santa Monica Blvd., West Hollywood.

>> Thurs., April 16, 6 pm – 8 pm, Beverly Hills Public Library, Auditorium, 2nd Fl., 444 N Rexford Dr., Beverly Hills.

>> Mon., April 20, 6 pm – 8 p.m., Westwood Presbyterian Church, 10822 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles.

>> Thurs., April 23, 6 pm – 8 pm, Santa Monica Public Library, 601 Santa Monica Blvd., Santa Monica.

As of now, I plan to attend that last meeting in Santa Monica.
