At Sustainable Works‘ first ever fundraiser last night, environmentalists and the eco-curious alike mingled and met to celebrate the Santa Monica nonprofit’s successes over organic drinks and eats at Bergamot Station.

Sustainable Works, a Santa Monica nonprofit known for its inexpensive Residential Greening Program and Green Business Certification, now has a brand new director: Barent Roth, perhaps best known among the eco-social for organizing LA Green Drinks.

The fundraiser party included a raffle and a silent auction for green goodies ranging from a box of local produce from Tierra Miguel Foundation to a 6-month YogaWorks membership. Sadly, I did not win the gorgeous pair of EarthFlow earrings I bid on. Losers were able to drown their sorrows in rich vegan chocolate cupcakes, however.
Couldn’t make it to the party? One of the easiest ways you can help Sustainable Works is by taking advantage of its programs. Individuals can take the Residential Greening Program, and businesses — at least those in Santa Monica and Culver City — can get Green Business Certification.
To the right is me with Jessica of Go To Green LA, the eco-calendar for the LA area. Sadly, I don’t update the green LA girl’s calendar anymore, due to lack of time. So please send on your event notices to Jessica instead –

The vegan cupcakes from Urth Caffe were awesome! I had a great time with Siel and Traci.
