TIME mag’s put together “The Style & Design 100” — complete with a green section, of course.
The most practical: Anya Hindmarch‘s “I’m not a plastic bag” tote. Cute, functional, just $10, and coming to a Whole Foods near you.
Pretty much everything else is rather high-end, expensive stuff, though they’re fun to look at. Check out multi-purpose, convertible furniture made of recycled materials by Christopher Douglas, eco-chic furniture by Brent Comber, and GM’s new electric car-to-be.
And for 3-D poetry, see Karen Ryan‘s vases, made by de-patterning antiques: “I find it hard to watch the news and then consider the design of yet another superfluous object,” she says.
TIME’s been putting out a lot of enviro-oriented content lately. Green sells?!
