Triple certified coffee at Co opportunity

Co-opportunity’s now offering 6 different coffees (above) from Caffe Ibis, a company known for its triple-certified beans (fair trade, organic, Smithsonian certified bird-friendly)!

I bought a couple pounds — and was also gonna get some organic and fair trade Equal Exchange coffee (right) — but it was all sold out, being on sale for $7.99.

But it’s nice to live in a place where fair trade coffee’s so popular!

  1. I wish people gave as much thought as to where they live and how they consume as they do to the labels on their coffee.

  2. To be clearer: I know too many people who obsess over their triple certification coffee, and meanwhile don’t give a second thought to the $29 Wal-Mart DVD player they are so jazzed about — the labor practices and the manufacturing byproduct dumping in Chinese rivers be damned.

  3. Yr a bit of a debbie downer, no? We could add that it’s horrible how people are spending money on a luxury like coffee when there are people starving and big enviro problems to be solved….

But to cheer you up — We don’t have any Walmarts in Santa Monica.
