A series that runs every Tuesday, where I ask questions unrelated to the environment, fair trade, or local politics that I’ve been wondering about but haven’t been able to google the answers to. Any advice is appreciated.

I’m looking for eco-friendly bras. Stuff that’s NOT made via prison labor (cough *Victoria’s Secret* cough) or sweatshop labor or Dov Charney. The bras can be made of organic fabrics or reclaimed materials, via fair labor standards –
Ideas? Lemme know –
Update, 7/11/06: Here’s my post on eco-friendly bras. Thanks for your help :)

What the? Prison labor may make a certain line of delicate lingerie? I’m never going to look at Prison Break in the same way again. In between riots, stabbings, toe pruning and drug dealing they are sowing the lacy bits onto womens underwear?

Here’s one piece on Global Exchange’s site. This CorpWatch one’s interesting too.

Hey Jasmin — Another reader, Larry, emailed me about Blue Canoe bras too — Here’s the company website. Wondering if this is the only option so far for green bras — Nothing with lace or underwire?

This is awful…
What I don’t understand, is just what part of the word “Slavery” does the vast majority of Americans who idolize their cheap material crap and food, and many others on this planet not understand???
People have to get away from being seduced by “Cheap Prices,” or always low prices crap, it is destroying our economy… then again, maybe it already is destroyed, and we are looking for and at a really different new future…

Don’t despair Chris — I’ve discovered there’s some good green bra options out there :)
