Junk to Funk Recycled Fashion Show Contest logoFancy yourself the next Deborah Lindquist? Then start upcycling textiles and trash to create eco-couture for the 4th Annual Junk to Funk Recycled Fashion Show Contest! (via OutsaPop Trashion)

Junk to Funk’s theme this year’s “Trashion Edutainment for the Masses,” with the goal to “restore our earth by creatively transforming our engagement with stuff.” Get your eco-educational fashion submission in by Oct. 17! You can enter two separate contests: A new Textile Challenge for upcycled fabrics diverted from the landfill, and the ever popular Trash Couture contest for fashions made from more unconventional trashy materials.

If your fashion design’s selected, you’ll win up to $500 plus a chance to show your eco-costume on the runway at the Junk to Funk show, happening at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland on Nov. 14.– and potential eco-designer fame.

Watch the runway show from last year to see what eco-trashions were in vogue in 2008 — then design something even better for this year’s show. Good luck –

  1. Seems like your old shower curtain rings would make a perfect accessory or even a great strap for a dress….
