Another cool indie coffee shop in Santa Monica! Velocity Cafe‘s family-owned and operated — and brews Groundwork Coffee.
I stopped by last Friday and graded papers while sipping a yummy Kona blend and nibbling on a grilled vegan wrap –
The place is whimsical and homey, with local art as well as some very interesting/strange sculptural pieces, including a v. large wooden lion…
It’s also a great place to blog. Not only does Velocity have free wifi, it also has loaner computers avaliable. You can even AIM the place before you get there (velocitycafesm) to put your order in!
Only downside: The place closes early, at 8 pm :(

I just went here this weekend and I loved the Groundworks Coffee. It was a great place to study on a Sunday morning!!
