The economy may be slowing down, but eco-fashion just seems to gain more momentum. On Thursday, just after fashion week, eco-boutique Vie threw a fundraiser for eco-nonprofit Global Green.

The chic boutique — furnished and decorated with mostly pre-loved materials — just opened in April. And if the fundraiser itself was any indication, Vie’s popular with the eco crowd. Shoppers sipped on VeeV cocktails while browsing through eco-fashions from California Rising, Loomstate, and many other green-minded designers.
In addition to fashionable going out tops, dresses, and unique T-shirts, Vie offers eco-inspired books — and cute undies. There’s a small section for the men too.
Rachelle Begley hosted the fundraiser — which brought to the party her husband Ed Begley, Jr., neighbor Bill Nye, Global Green’s president and CEO Matt Petersen, and other familiar faces as well as copies of Positively Green, featuring Rachelle on the cover. 10% of proceeds from sales — as well as all the money from a raffle — went to Global Green.
To the right’s me with Jessica of Go to Green LA, who despite living in the valley somehow makes it out to all the eco-events. To the left’s Vie’s owner, Rachel Hurn-Maloney (far left), with friends. The boutique’s open every day, for those ready to start their holiday shopping early!
Vie. 8032 W. 3rd St. Los Angeles. 323.944.0530.

This is one trend that I a really hoping starts to take off. Eco – Boutiques can provide both fashion and a happy Earth, what can be better?
