How I’m voting for the environment in the Nov. 4, 2008 election.

Writes the Green Party of California: “Proposition 9 is more about revenge than Victim’s Rights.” I can’t agree more. Pretty much everyone’s against this initiative except for the Republican Party.

Prop 9 basically takes a lot of power away from defendants while giving a lot more to the accusers. In fact, Prop 9 could violate people’s constitutional rights, even according to the rather conservative LA Times. “Ex-convicts accused of violating parole would lose their right to a lawyer provided by the state,” for example.

The Miranda Warning‘s worth preserving, yes? Vote no on Prop 9.
