Vote! Obama and Biden for President and VP

Posted by Siel in feminist/politics (Monday October 6, 2008 at 10:04 am)

How I’m voting for the environment in the Nov. 4, 2008 election.

Considering I threw a fundraiser for Obama with some friends, I’m sure it doesn’t come as a suprise that I’m voting for Obama.

BTW — We actually ended up exceeding our $1500 goal at The Big O (bamarama)! You can still donate to join the roster of happy progressive party people –

The reasons I’m voting for Obama — not the least of which is how scary things’d get if Palin actually became prez — are almost too many to name. But I thought I’d use this space to highlight Obama’s environmental stance:

>> Grist’s put together a stellar chart that lets you see at a glance where the presidential candidates stand on environmental issues. The chart includes not just Obama and McCain, but also candidates who certainly will not win, but hopefully won’t split the Democratic vote either like happened in 2000.

>> Read NewScientist’s Climate change: how Obama and McCain compare for a rundown on the two candidate’s policies.

Yes, I voted for Hillary in the primaries. Now, I’m bridging the gap (literally, above) — and am happy to see Hillary’s supporting Obama’s campaign too. I wasn’t able to make it to ANGELENOS GO GREEN FOR OBAMA on Saturday, but I know Hillary was scheduled to be there. Did any of you readers go?
