Voting with my fork: More window shopping at the farmers market

Posted by Siel in food, losangeles, organic (Monday September 4, 2006 at 8:58 am)

[A series documenting my efforts to eat local! Kick-off post's here]

This week, I actually got up early enough to buy produce at the farmer’s market. However, since most of my ParadiseO delivery‘s still in the fridge — and since I’m moving soon, I thought I’d hold off.

Instead, I got the yummiest organic quiche Provençal with an organic salad — for just $5!

Then I watched cute lil kids take lil pony rides. It really takes me back to the days when I could fit onto one of those ponies (no, I couldn’t really relate to the mamas on the sidelines).

Once I get settled into my new apt., I’ll really start taking my farmers’ market shopping seriously –

Update, 9/27/06: More details on the zero waste program at the Santa Monica farmers’ market :)
