Interestingly, I’ve been getting a small flurry of emails from people looking for other people looking for jobs, work, and opportunities in the socio-environmental world. I say interestingly because I’ve often thought that good green jobs are hard to come by –
Which is why I’m happy to promote these opportunities:
Assistant Manager, Coffee to the People, San Francisco.
You’ve always dreamed of working at a fair trade coffee shop in the Haight — Now’s your chance! Coffee to the People will also be looking for a new manager in a year or so — so this Assistant Manager position could very well turn into a straight-out manager position. Or, I s’pose you could keep the position in mind if you’re planning to move to San Fran in the near future. Karin, the co-owner, is looking for “high quality people committed to fair trade coffee.”
Intern, better thinking, London.
Cate from better thinking emailed to say that bt’s looking for some interns interested in working with the perfect t-shirt effort, etc. in the London area over the summer. Check out the cool work better thinking’s doing — and if you’d like to spend 3-months in London doing something meaningful — What’s stopping you now?
Participant, Low Car Diet, Flexcar, Los Angeles.
Flexcar ran its first Low Car Diet competition in San Diego. Now, it’s la-la land’s turn. Flexcar Los Angeles is recruiting 28 gung-ho Angelenos to join the Low-Car Diet. Email margaret.kemp@flexcar.com to enlist!

up here (canada) we have something called GoodWorks and it’s kinda like workopolis or onea those, but all green(!) there’s often gigs available in the USA as well like this one in Vermont (7th Generation!!) and this one in Oakland and there’s usually a bunch of Organic Farms in Hawaii that want interns (Mmmmmmm)
I’m surprised that there isn’t something like this in your neck of the woods…. oh and HAVE AN AWESOME PARTY TONIGHT!!!! ((and BTW any word on those LA water roofs???))

Water roofs? Explain…
We have Idealist, and a couple other job list sites, but the ones I get emails about are those that sorta fall outside the norm — i.e. coffee shop managers with a passion for fair trade, or interns looking for overseas opportunities :)
