Wednesday freebies: 5 reusable bags and 6 USB flash drives

Posted by Siel in freebies (Wednesday August 5, 2009 at 7:27 am)

A twice-weekly sharing of eco-shwag.

Reusable bags

Today’s freebies come mostly courtesy of BlogHer ’09, where I amassed way too many reusable bags and flash drives. In fact, if you’ve been reading up on the post BlogHer ’09 posts this year, you’ve probably run into quite a few about what to do about the overshwagging that happens at this annual event. Find out what some of the green bloggers have to say by following the links on my Green Bloggers at BlogHer ’09 post at FilterForGood.

So — One lucky winner will get a 5-pack of reusable bags, two of which are collapsible and one of which is made of organic cotton. No eco-creds for the other two –

USB flash drives

About the flash drives: These have basically become the new press CD, with the small eco-benefit of the former being that they’re at least reusable. I’m hoping someone with a small classroomful of students will take these off my hands and put them to good use — but assuming I won’t be that lucky, please let me know how many drives you can use and I’ll divvy them up among the green LA girl readers who want them.

Comment by Sunday — and let me know which item(s) you’d like — to get into the drawing, which’ll happen Monday (more info on freebies here). US addresses only.

Thanks to both FilterForGood and Stonyfield Farm for sponsoring my trip to BlogHer ’09. A few eco bloggers suggested that BlogHer ’09 sponsors hand out less wasteful coupons instead of actual products at conferences — and I’m happy to say both Stonyfield and FilterForGood offered this option. All winners from this freebie will also get a coupon for a free cup of Oikos Organic Greek Yogurt from Stonyfield in their package. And for a coupon for Brita products, take the pledge not to buy disposable plastic water bottles at FilterForGood.

  1. Hey, I teach high school in Hollywood and my kids are inner city, low income. I often have to lend my flash for the kids who can’t afford their own; so, PICK ME! I’m the one with classroom of kids!
