Today’s giveaway: A screener DVD for the “Live,” “Business,” “Gadges,” and “Animals” episodes of Sundance Channel’s recently ended second season of Big Ideas for a Small Planet.
The “Live” episodes features an East LA company called Logical Homes, which makes modular homes out of cargo containers that’ve been stacking up at the Port of LA due to trade imbalances. Not only do the cargo container houses cost about 30% less than traditional homes, they look pretty sleek and can be expanded very easily!
Other highlights from the episodes include a look at the green initiatives at Google, the fair trade efforts of Edun, and a fascinating effort to create fiberboard out of soybeans and chicken feathers!
