Wednesday freebies: Cooking Green

Posted by Siel in freebies (Wednesday May 27, 2009 at 7:27 am)

A twice-weekly sharing of eco-shwag.

Today’s giveaway is a copy of Cooking Green — Reducing Your Carbon Footprint in the Kitchen — the New Green Basics Way, a new book by Kate Heyhoe, editor of The Global Gourmet, that helps eco-foodies go beyond the 100-mile diet to make their dining choices greener than ever.

The copy I’m giving away’s an uncorrected proof — with XXs marking in-text page numbers, for example. Read my review of Cooking Green, then comment or email by Sunday to get into the drawing, which’ll happen Monday (more info on freebies here). US addresses only.

  13. I use two cookbooks to cook meals for my family many times per week. But I don’t have an enviro cookbook. This one would be great!

  16. This sounds like an interesting concept. Something else that is similar (but from a different era) is How to Cook a Wolf by M.F.K. Fischer. She talks about using her oven to cook multiple things at once and such to save on heating costs.
