This sounds like an interesting concept. Something else that is similar (but from a different era) is How to Cook a Wolf by M.F.K. Fischer. She talks about using her oven to cook multiple things at once and such to save on heating costs.

I use two cookbooks to cook meals for my family many times per week. But I don’t have an enviro cookbook. This one would be great!
