Wednesday freebies: iGo Power Smart Tower

Posted by Siel in freebies (Wednesday March 3, 2010 at 7:03 am)

A twice-weekly sharing of eco-shwag.

iGo Power Smart Tower

Curious about those energy-saving power strips that’ll help you vanquish vampire power from your home? Then enter this week’s freebie to win an iGo Power Smart Tower!

This Smart Tower’s basically a tech-savvy power strip that cuts off power to gadgets and chargers when they’re not in use. Read my review of the iGo Power Smart Tower to find out more about the gadget and whether it may be right for you.

The Smart Tower that’s going to be given away is the same one I tried out for the review, so keep in mind that it’s not brand new — though barely used and in its box with the instruction pamphlet.

Because the Smart Tower’s heavy, this drawing’s open only to L.A.-area residents willing to pick up the freebie from Santa Monica. Comment by Tuesday to get into the drawing, which’ll happen next Wednesday (more info on freebies here).

  1. I’ve been wanting this ever since you blogged it!! I saw a $30 “smart” strip at target, but it’s not nearly as cool as this one.

  5. oh man, with the amount of xboxs, playstation, tv, DVR etc etc etc that we have plugged into a few power bars, this would come in handy immensly in cutting back our phantom power

  12. I live/love in LA. My husband and I are actually looking into buying our first home together, and are determined to find the perfect fixer-upper :) we want to live as green as possible (as most everyone does) and want to fix our possible home re-using as many things possible (not buying new, but instead scouring craigslist, the interwebs). we have been doing much research, and i love the idea of using these smart towers. it would be really handy here at home, and at work. what an awesome give-away!
