I totally skipped the freebies the last couple weeks — and my excuse is that I’ve been getting really weird stuff to give away.
Case in point: The Murad Energizing Pomegranate Lip Therapy, SPF 15. Given to me as a freebie at Heal the Bay‘s volunteer party last week, this Murad product’s gotten a scary “not recommended” hazard score of 7 on Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep database. The main problem with the product: Its use of oxybenzone as a sunscreen.

I was at that party! How often do you get to volunteer with them? I had a great time (minus my raffle ticket NOT getting called). It’s nice that you are able to share so much *shwag* with us but I think we can all do without the bashing of these things that are just gifts, yea?

I like trying out new beauty products and lip products are one of the top things I’d like to try. Please count me in. I’ll take my chances with the oxybenzone.
