A twice-weekly sharing of eco-shwag.
Today’s giveaway’s a DVD copy of Plagues & Pleasures of the Salton Sea, a documentary about the environmental haven / disaster that’s the Salton Sea, located 50 miles south of Palm Springs. I reviewed the film here.
I actually have 2 copies — 1 “regular” DVD and 1 Ironweed DVD — so 2 winners’ll get to see this film.
Comment or email by Friday to get into the drawing, which happens Saturday. US addresses only.

I think the salton sea is a great example of how humans can effect the ecology on a larger scale. Funny how we just seem to ignore this little disaster. I guess it’s good for the birds, though (until they get the brain-eating amoeba).

I’ve had the Salton Sea on my list of places to go for like 3 years now. Especially seeing as I’m so close (relatively speaking). So count me in, maybe it’ll inspire me to drag my butt out there.

I remember visiting the Salton Sea when I was kid. It was disgusting. But I’d love to see and learn about all the enviro connections it has
