A twice-weekly sharing of eco-shwag.
I have not just 1, but 2 copies of Plenty: One Man, One Woman, and a Raucous Year of Eating Locally to give away to 2 lucky readers.
Reviewed here, Plenty details Alisa Smith and J.B. Mackinnon’s year-long experiment to eat only stuff grown or raised within a 100-mile radius from their Vancouver home.
Green reading tip: Share your books by giving them to other readers.
The books are paperback review copies (uncorrected proofs).
Let me know if you want them by leaving a comment or sending an email by Friday; drawing happens Saturday. US addresses only.

If you are sharing books, and want to encourage pass along readers, register them at bookcrossing.com, and folks can journal their comments on the book and then pass them on . . . tell them Ryuku sent you . . .

Sounds awesome! I’d love to get my hands on a copy. And I have a person or two in mind who’d like to read it when I’m done. Thanks, Siel.

Perfect for my current attempt at keeping a 200-mile diet (100-mile is tough in cold NY)

I’d love a copy! I’ve been reading up on the 100-mile diet site and am interested in attempting a go at it. I’m gluten free too, so I need all the inspiration and healthy living info I can get!

Hi Green LA Girl!
I would love to read this book as I’m working hard at eatting locally: buying all my produce from my local farmers market in Mar Vista. I’m also using the indoor composter with bokashi from The Happy Farmer, which is turning into a real experiment, but interesting.
Since I live in an apt., I’m inspired to start a little veggie garden in the back lot where cars usually park, but I want to bring some beauty and life to the place and offer my neighbors another view of what it could look like and how we can grow food and share it with eachother, and not just park cars or throw trash in the dumpster.
So I’m very interested in what other people are doing to enliven and broaden their lives in respect to food, the environment and community. This book would be in the right hands for sure – and of course I’d share the book and inspire others!
Thanks Siel for the great work you do!
