Weekly green update: Mushrooms and more

Posted by Siel in events (Monday April 9, 2007 at 6:59 pm)

What to do this week –

Tuesday: Don’t forget: Black Gold airs on PBS on Tuesday! You might need to Tivo it if you wanna make it to Green Business Networking that night –

Thursday: Subtitle Film Festival kicks off — That’s where I’ll be, after the Downtown Art Walk (and Art Ride, for the cyclers). People in Hermosa Beach — or people who enjoy fighting traffic — can drown their eco-sorrows at the Hermosa Beach Green Drinks.

Friday: Learn how you can save the world with mushrooms

Saturday: Wake up bright and early for Earth Day on the Promenade in Santa Monica, kicking off at 10 am. If you’re downtown, check out the Southern California Transit Advocates meeting to help work on our public transit situation in LA.

And mid-afternoon, if you’re really behind the curve and haven’t seen An Inconvenient Truth yet, here’s your chance to check it out and hear some interesting speakers to boot. For poetry aficionados — Eileen Myles’ll be reading at the Machine Project.

Sunday: Hear Congressman Henry Waxman chat about the Bush admin, and Waxman’s recent visits to Israel and Syria. I won’t be here, because I’ll be in Washington DC, but hopefully someone can give me a synopsis of what Waxman said –
