Weigh in on the Big Blue Bus

240228990 36c952de5e m Weigh in on the Big Blue BusAfter moving my bus stop over a block, now, the Big Blue Bus’ #10’s gonna test a route change in the downtown area starting today, going down 7th instead of 8th on the trip west, and 9th instead of 6th on the trip east.

The move changes up just 6 stops — but it affects my routine — right after I’ve finally settled into them a bit! But maybe — like the bus stop — it’ll end up being more convenient for me….

Whatever happens, I can call or fill out this form (PDF) to let the BBB people know how I feel about the potential changes. The change next week isn’t permanent; it’s just a test drive to see how people like it. The route will go back to its old ways on Feb. 17 until the BBB comes to a decision. If you take the 10, make sure you weigh in :)

And if you’ve got other opinions about the Big Blue Bus, the BBB wants to hear from you at a community meeting in March. Up for discussion: potential changes to #10 route, the new SMC commuter (which I wrote about briefly here), and a fare restructure. This last one is something I know nothing about! Anyone know how they’re planning to “restructure” the fare?

First meeting’s at the Santa Monica Main Library’s Multi-Purpose Room, 601 Santa Monica Blvd., on Monday, March 5, from 6 – 8 p.m. — That’s the one I’m planning to go to. Here’s a list of the other meetings.

Update, 3/7/07: The first of my reports from the community meeting: The Mini Blue line –
