What can you get for $10 in Los Angeles?

A couple venti frappuccinos, if you go to Starbucks. But I did not go to Starbucks.

No — I went on Craigslist! Not only did I find a whole lotta garage sales goin’ on, I got to check out the pictures to see if they’d meet my style criteria.

Then I talked Summer into goin’ over to these dudes’ place with me. What I got:

A patio set — 2 chairs and a table.

11 wine glasses of various sizes and shapes.

8 glasses of various sizes and shapes.

A dishrack (sans the dishes in the pic).

I collected this stuff in a pile by the door, then asked how much. One of the guys said, “$10 and you can have all of it.”

“Really? Are you sure?”

They were sure.

Handing over the $10 bill, I said jokingly, “You guys are like horrible businessmen.”

They laughed. “Yeah, we just need to get rid of it.”

Yes, I saved a lot of money. I also saved some stuff from the landfills :)

Tomorrow, if it’s nice out, I’m gonna enjoy a glass of wine in one of my old-new glasses while sitting out on my patio –
