So unless, like Macrogal, you’re ahead of the curve and went to see it at the LA Film Festival already, line up to watch Who Killed the Electric Car at the Nuwilshire tomorrow.

For now, I’m planning on the 9:50 pm show. Who’s with me?

Update, 7/3/06: Rick Wagoner, CEO of General Motors, says he regrets killing the electric car. Also, Joel Mackower says GM’s coming out with some better-than EV-1 options –

Update, 7/8/06: I watched it, and you should too — A review here.

  1. I came across this film on Rottentomatoes yesterday, and I am dying to see it. I know there is much to debate about the electric car, but it is interesting to see how it just disappeared from the California landscape. Of course, it is even more interesting to see how it was GM who scrapped the whole thing, since they have had a major part in the dependence on the automobile in Los Angeles.

  2. I don’t often drool, or more correctly said, “Pre-drool” over movies, but this is certainly one of them. Yes, it is a conservation issues thing. I was one of those people first in line in the 80’s to buy a Honda CRX, that cruised at 70 mpg on the freeway… and have been fuming at the Automotive and Petroleum people(?) ever since they walked so arrogantly away from conservation business ethics…

Well, the interesting news, is that there are a whole new wave of independent electric vehicle producers, ready to step up to table, with a lot more social responsiveness, and environmental ethics, and, production abilities that larger companies, cannot keep in step with.
