So I’m a few days late on this, but we’re to get citywide wifi in LA!

Mayor Villaraigosa held a press conference about the LA WiFi Initiative; the goal’s to have citywide WiFi by the end of 2009 :)

Hopefully it’ll stay on schedule. Does this means that the whole Starbucks’ T-Mobile hotspots thing will become obsolete (or free?).

Possible green angle: Fewer individual wifi gateway systems and stuff in Angeleno homes hopefully equals less ewaste going to landfills –
